CTA trolleybus 9610 passes red Pullmans 479 and 473 on Irving Park Road, west of the North-South “L”, on May 16, 1954. The occasion was a streetcar fantrip held two weeks before all the remaining red cars were retired from regular service (and their routes converted to buses). By this time, trolleybuses had replaced streetcars on Irving, but there was still a connecting track available here, which made for a convenient place for a photo stop. (William C. Hoffman Photo)
